6/52: even after getting a shot my little lovey is all smiles after a nice long nap

Dear Elodie (3 months)

(somebunny is super pumped to be 3 months old!)

Dear Elodie,

My smiley flirty girl.  You are really coming to life these days.  I love looking in the big hallway mirror with you and seeing you smile and hide your face in my chest.  I will do anything to see the big smile on your face.  And your laughs!  Your laughs just warm my heart.  You are seriously the cutest baby ever.  Even when you are being a little stinker and won't nap or won't go to sleep at night you are so cute.  You usually flash Daddy and me a big smile when you are being a stinker which makes it impossible to be frustrated with you.

Currently we are struggling with napping.  You will only nap in my arms.  While I love it and truly savor every precious moment I get with you I know I have to get you napping on your own sooner rather than later.  I know we will get there.  I will miss holding you for a couple hours while you nap in my arms but it will also be nice to have a little time to myself during the day.  When I get frustrated and start to lose my patience I remind myself that I will really miss this.

At 3 months old you...
... have started to laugh (I made you laugh for the first time January 22)
... rolled over from front to back on January 16... you did it multiple times that day and haven't done it since, haha
... talk talk talk talk talk up a storm
... love when daddy and I make funny noises with our lips and try to imitate them
... have started to grab at toys
... turn toward noises but only when you want to... you are already perfecting your selective hearing
... produce more drool than someone your size should be able to... I mean how it is possible?!?!

I absolutely love spending every single day with you, watching you grow and witnessing your personality blossom.  You are such a treasure.  I love you so much!

It has become pretty obvious to me that I am going to have a hard time writing blog posts on a consistent basis with this little Moosh taking up so much of my time.  So in an effort to keep documenting my little lady I have decided to take a photo of Elodie once a week for a whole year.  So here goes...

1/52: napping on Uncle Nick

Dear Elodie (2 months)

Dear Elodie,

Bad mommy forgot to take your picture on January 3rd so today you are actually 2 months and 3 days old.  Mommy will do better next month, I promise!

Your daddy and I are absolutely loving watching you grow.  You have really changed from a fragile newborn to a baby.  I think I have kinda been in denile about how big you are getting.  When you sit across my lap nursing I cannot believe how BIG you look but when your daddy holds you or I put you in your bouncer you still look so small.  Then I put your 1 month and 2 month photos side by side and I had a heart attack... you have grown so much!

(ahhhhhhh stop getting big so fast!!!)

You are so much more aware of your surroundings and you are getting so interactive.  When you look at me and flash a big gummy smile I just die.  It is the best!  Watching your personality blossom before my eyes is fascinating.  You are constantly kicking your feet out and flailing your arms around... all the movement usually results in you spitting up when you are on your back, oh well.  Since you have been so interested in your surroundings I've been putting you on your kicky piano playmat and your bouncer seat.  You love staring at your reflection in the mirror on your playmat and staring at the birdies in your bouncer seat.

At two months old...
... you are "talking" up a storm
... you are super smiley and flirty
... you are grabbing more and more with your hands (you have started holding onto my shirt while you nurse and I just love it)
... you are noticing more and more around you and following things with your eyes
... you are finally taking a pacifier
... you never ever want to nap on your own during the day... and sometimes fight sleeping at night
... you are letting other people hold you without crying (though mommy doesn't mind you being a mommy's girl one bit)

Every day with you just gets better and better.  Though I would certainly love to get more than 3 hours of sleep in a row I really wouldn't change a thing.  I love you sooooooo much Mooshy!!!
